Lloyd Dobler Effect is a Silver Spring, Maryland-based five-piece band that plays rock and roll music with Latin rhythms and go go beats. The band is named after John Cusack’s character in the Cameron Crowe film ''Say Anything.''〔 〕 They have performed at over 170 college campuses in the past two years. The band has performed in 39 states in the United States and in 8 countries. They typically play over 250 gigs a year, often playing two per day in the summer. The band has headlined three tours for the Armed Forces Entertainment, including trips to the Middle East and Asia.
